一 、基数词

基数词表示人或事物数量多少的词。  

基数词巧学妙计

1至12单独记，13至19后-teen加起。

20至90整十位，-ty结尾是后缀。

几十几，连字符号“-”莫忘记。

几百几，hundred后面and立。

基数词的用法：

(1)表示数量的多少。如：

Three hundred people have lost their lives in the accident.

(2)表示年份、时刻。如：

He was born in 1952.

－What time is it now?    －It’s two to two.

注：年份的读法：先读前两位数，再读后两位数。

1900→nineteen hundred    1807→eighteen and seven (eighteen o seven)

2008→two thousand eight

(3) 表示顺序。基数词表示顺序时，由“单数名词+基数词”构成，名词的第一个字母通常要大写。

注：“单数名词+基数词”可以转换为“the+序数词+单数名词”，此时名词的第一个字母不大写。如：

Lesson Ten = the tenth lesson

(4) hundred / thousand /million /billion

若hundred / thousand /million /billion 前有基数词时，其后不加s，也不加of 。若没有时，既加s 也要带of 。如：Every year   C  visitors come to China.

There are two   A   students in our school.

A. thousand    B. thousands    C. thousands of   D. thousand of

若其前有a few, many, several 修饰时，通常用复数，后接of。

（5）“基数词+单数名词”相当于复合形容词，作名词的定语，用于表示时间、距离等，词组中的名词必须是单数形式。如：

A ten-day holiday    为期10天的假期         the 100-meter race   100米跑

A ten-minute walk   10分钟的路程

（6）数词与表示时间、距离、长度的名词一起构成“数词+单位名词+形容词”，表示事物的形状、年代、长度、距离等。如：
